Synopsis

Based on actual events, Olivier Masset-Depasse's award-winning film vividly depicts the harsh reality for those detained in Belgium's detention centres. Tania is a Russian immigrant who has been working in Belgium for eight years. Her illegal status means she's in a state of constant alert, fearful that she or her 14-year-old son Ivan will be exposed. Tania is arrested and placed in an administrative holding centre. Following the advice of the people around her, she stays silent and refuses to co-operate with the authorities. Threatened with deportation and desperate to be reunited with her vulnerable son, Tania battles a system with the odds stacked against her, fighting for her rights and her freedom.
